Free prescriptions, free eye test and lenses and a proportion towards frames (not sure of the exact amount there), free powdered baby milk, free dental treatment, free school dinners for their children, Housing benefit and Council Tax benefit.
Additionally, they may be entitled to concessionary travel on certain types of public transport (i.e. local buses) and some local sports and leisure facilities. Your friend would have to contact her local borough council to discover what exactly they were entitiled to in this second list.
Hope this helps. For advice on how to claim items in the first list, see the adviceguide website from Citizens Advice.

It depends what kind of job seekers allowance they are getting - ie if it is income based or contribution based. If it is contribution based then you're not automatically entitled to anything else (on grounds that you've paid your national insurance enough and also it's not means tested so you can have savings). If you get income based you havn't paid enough national insurance, have lower savings (under £3000 I think) and it is means tested. With income based you get full Housing benefit Council tax benefit, and free eye tests, dental work and prescriptions.
