Last week some friends of mine threw a party for their new apartment, but the neighbors didn't agree to let us play loud music. We tried and they said they'd call the cops.

So we turned the volume down, but since we were about 30 people, we could barely hear it.

Going somewhere else (i.e. in a club or sth) wasn't an option as the apartment was the reason we threw the party.

If anyone has some good ideas of a party without loud music, I'd really appreciate if you share them.

Ok, to clear things up a bit...

1. Music wasn't so loud so we couldn't hear one another - we only had 2 x 10W spkrs.
2. They told their neighbors they wanted to throw a party with quite loud music, but the neighbors didn't agree.

What we usually do is tell our neighbors that we are having a party and ask them what is the best volume for them if u want music, but when i tell our neighbors they either leave or they come join us. Good way to get to know your own neighbors if u are new

I usually hate it when the music is really loud and I can't talk at all. But not being able to hear it at all sucks. Well, that's the down fall of living in an apartment. You can't have big parties. The only option is to rent a house next time.

whats a party without loud music! Your apartment complex stinks!

You can always go to a friends place to party there.....or all listen you your iPods at the same time...it'll be much quieter! (just a joke!)

But yes, you definately need to find a new party spot with no disturbances since your neighbors are so stuck up.

Good luck on your quest!

To be honest, loud music at a party can be annoying. I hate trying to shout at someone I am trying to talk to. Don't worry about the music - just leave it out.
