My father was Jewish (he passed away almost six years ago) and in the Jewish faith, people name their children using the first initial of a deceased's first name. My dad's name was Mark, and my brother named his daughter Mia. If you think that using your father's name would be hard on you, you could always pick a name using his first initial. I think it's very honorable and very sweet if you do decide to go with the same name. I'm sure your son will be very proud to carry on his grandfather's name.

Your father would be honoured to have a grand son carrying his name. No matter what you name your child, the memories of your father will always be there.

that is a tribute. a reminer of the wonderfull man that loved you, protected, and took care of you. i plan to name my baby after my father to. dads name was daniel. so if i have a girl she will be danielle. and if i have a boy he will be daniel. so just tell your son why you named him after his grandpa and tell him about all the awsome things he did to take care of you. that way your son will always carry a part of the grandpa he never knew with him.

it all depends on how your family will deal with it.
My brother(23) died 7 months before his son was born. His son is named Bobby Jr. after him but his mother calls him BJ. We call him lil Bobby. My uncle had his first baby and they named his son's middle name after my late brother's middle name (andre). May-be you can use your father's middle name for his name or middle name. It's honorable in my eyes.

I named all 3 of my children after family who meant a great deal to me(only one of those people are still living) That is a total personal choice for you though. It is a great idea though

I am so sorry to hear about your father's loss.
i am sure your father is watching you from above and he will be thrilled that you are naming your son after him. even as a middle name would be nice.
