I didnt panic about pooing - I was more worried about the fact that all and sundry could see my nether regions and the pain I was soon about to endure - however as the old saying goes leave your dignity at the door when you go into labour! If he loves you which he should after making small people with you then who cares if he see's you pooh?! he will see your lady area stretched out of all natural human proportions if he is at that end of the bed anyway hun.
Good luck with the baby :-)

I had the same feelings and trust me when your giving birth you really wont care, an inner being takes over and the main concern is get the baby out, I have no idea whether I pooed or not. I was told that a farted a bit but no one saw any poo. In fact your body will do an empty before just before hand, and the midwives may even say try and use the loo one more time.
The room could have filed with people and I wouldn't have cared at the time! when my sister was having one of her babies they asked if it was OK for a male to come in the room, she said she didn't care as long as she could have a gin and tonic.
most of all don't worry to much about the poo thing just have a stress-less birth as possible

As previous respondents have already stated, that is something we have all feared before we went into labour. Once you go into labour, all your worries and inhibitions will go! Pooing happens occassionally, it is part of the process sometimes unfortunately. If you do, you probably won't even notice it. The midwives have seen it all before, whereas for your husband, he will be far more concerned about the pain you will be going through and the imminent new arrival, so his mind (if not the sight) will be preoccupied with other factors. I would suggest that you discuss your concerns with your husband prior to the birth, as he may or may not be aware that these things can occur. If he is prepared, it wouldn't be a shock to him. He opted to be there for the birth, so prepare him the best you can. In any case, he'll get over it. Luckily this didn't happen to me. Good luck.

I have had three children and am prego with # 4 (35 wks) and that has been on my mind alot... I have never been given an enema before hand so not sure where people get that as a standard procudure when you go into labor. But look at it this way if you do , its not going to be that big of a deal. Im more worried that I will be out in public and have my water break.

I've had 3 completely different births and this hasn't happened to me once!!
Don't worry tho it is absolutely normal if this does happen as the body is going through a hell of a lot and it needs to make room for the baby to come out
You might find that you get the trots early on in labour, but again this is normal too!
Good luck- it's worth all the pain!!

Don't worry, once youre in there that'll be the last thing on your mind! Try to make sure you go to the loo s late into the labour as possible..and if it 'does' happen, you won't even know about and the midwife will have it cleaned away before anyone else notices. its nothing to be embarrassed about and is perfectly naural because of how the pelvic muscles are structured.

I was scared of this too! And I did poop during pushing...but I had no idea I was doing it because I was numb from the epidural. I smelled something and asked if I had pooped and my husband said no but the nurse was honest and told me I had.
We all had a pretty good sense of humor about it - my husband and I agreed to NEVER discuss it again. It actually came up the other day and we laughed about it and I made him SWEAR again that he'd never bring it up.
Your husband loves you - pooping during childbirth won't change that - and if it does, you have bigger issues with your husband.

Most women, when their contractions start, don't feel like eating much so therefore there is very little in your system and so there should be no p**p. Once the real labor pains start, that's going to be the last thing on your mind.

lmao .... aww don't worry about it , even if u do u wont care !!
giving birth feels like u want a massive poo, but your body naturally empties your bowls beforehand this is why a lot of women suffer with diarrhoea before they go into labour .... chill out and don't worry !!
