Do I need a prescription? OR could I purchase this as OTC? I'm not pregnant either, but I heard they are good for hair/nail growth. Is this a good idea to take?

yes, you can, but in many pharmacies they are kept behind the counter, but you always can ask the pharmacist...I took them too! I took the Stuart formula..you gotta drink lots of water with it...or you might get nausea's...

Prenatal vitamins are fine to take whether you are pregnant or not. They just have some extra amounts of some things like folic acid that are important for pregnancy. You can buy then OTC, and last time I was pregnant my doctor told me they were just as good as prescription vitamins, cheaper.

You may have to have a prescription for them, Im not too sure. Before I was pregnant and try to buy them, every store I went to didn't have them. But yes they are VERY good for your hair and nail growth. My hair grew sooo much when I started to take them. You don't have to be pregnant to take them. They are just good to take while pregnant because of the folic acid.

You can buy them OTC...especially for just hair and nails. They are good for you, and they won't hurt! I am always looking for the cheapest, and those are at the Dollar General Store, where they sell for a buck or so.

GNC has a wide variety of feminine based multi-vitamins. They have a vitamin specific for hair and nails. That would be a better suggestion than prenatal.

They can be purchased OTC. Usually you can get them from any place that sell vitamins. If you cant find them, Flintstone vitamins can be substituted in place of them, or this is what I was told my by OB/GYN when I was pregnant.

Prescription only pre-natal vitamins are special combinations and strengths designed for ----you guesssed it---pregnant women and the developing child. Non-pregnant women should not take them. But most OTC multi-vitamins will contain ingredients that foster healthy hair and nails. Just go with any daily vitamin.

I get them at Walmart in the vitamin section. Walgreens and all grocery stores have them as well. Any place that sells vitamins should have them and you don't need a prescription to get them.
