In my experiences most white brits are racists, yet they are hypocrites saying that we live in a multi-cultural society. We dont live in a multi-cultural society you just put up with us thats all, isnt that how you see it?

I doubt you would go into an asians house and eat their food because you would think about where their hands have been.

What on EARTH are you talking about?

OK - there are racists about. But there are also lots of people who have Asian friends.

I have enjoyed many meals in Asian homes. I assumed their hands had been similar places to my own.

The majority of British people are not racists! We will accept anyone no matter what their creed or colour. Unfortunately there are a few racists that show white people in a bad light. London though is an ethnically harmogenious city. This is something to be proud of. One of my friends is asian. I would eat in his house anytime. We are also an incredibly tolerant country and will put up with those that complain that they get the short end of the stick, whether this be true or not! I find that the worst kind of racism is directed towards eastern europeans who are here simply to work. They generally do jobs that British people aren't interested in. But what I find funny is that they are, more often than not, highly educated people who can speak several different languages. I think that sport has a large role to play in bringing people from different backgrounds together also. Just like footballs message " lets kick racism out"! I hope you grow to gain a more open opinion of the average white Brit. Have a happy 2007!!!

Your accusations are unfounded and generalised, based on a blatent stereotype which is exactly where most racism stems from, as most people on here have said, what you have said does sound very racist in itself.

On Topic, some people are, some people are not, as much as a politically correct person would rather be able to go through life not worrying about the colour of skin and accent that people have there are always gonna be other people who cant see past exactly that.

Most racist people probably obtain these views from their upbringings, only repeating what they have been told and hardly ever find out what they actually think of these matters themselves

The best way I find in this world is to realise that no matter what colour people are, you are gonna get people who are nice and you are gonna get people who are dicks, I wouldnt wanna live in a world where I cant be a friend to someone who has a different ethnic background to what I have, obviously this is allowed, but say if I was to hate someone from a different background for an entirely different reason, say they were an inconsiderate prick, it would still be considered as a racist hate crime, as this is how this stupid country works.

Truth is, most of the people in the world are racist, whether only a little or a lot it is in there somewhere, simply because there are things in other cultures that are different from their own, it alienates, you cant tell me that a house of people belonging to one race are not racist about another type of race behind the closed doors of their house, it is a human trait that we wish we didnt have, but there we are.

In my opinion, it would take something as drastic as an alien invasion for the people of this world to realise that skin colour and different lifestyles are such a pathetic thing to be arguing about

With an attitude like you have I am not surprised that you have formed such a mis-guided opinion. Most British white people are NOT racist they are simply overwhelmed by the in-your-face culture that MOST coloured people living in this country seem to adopt. You are quite right Britain is not a multi-cultural society and neither should it be. If I were to move to a country with a predominantly coloured or Moslem culture i would take great pains to fit in with the local population and not demand that they fit in with me. A little more tolerance from the people who think they are being discriminated against might help to change the situation.

Sorry to disappoint you but I eat with Asian friends quite a lot.
Why would I worry about where there hands have been? They are clean.
In most of the fast food outlets(in London) the majority of workers are non white, this does not put white people off eating there.

Your question and responses to your question indicate nothing to suggest most white Brits are racist, but does indicate that you are a very narrow minded, racist person.

obviously as a 'non-white brit' yourself, you do not know what we think and believe that we are racist in everything that we do!

Why are you so paranoid?

As for entering an Asian/Indian/Black/Whatever 's house and eating their food? If I was invited by a friend then of course I would you neanderthal!
But if they were serving a food that I didn't like, I would accept the invitation and explain my likes and dislikes. As friends they would accomodate me.

I do not count any other race as my friend.
If you are my friend, you are my friend. You will never be 'my asian friend' or 'my black friend'!
When people realise that race is NEVER important, as with religious or sexual orientation, then the world will be a better place.
Take pride in your roots and ancestors, but don't tar everyone with the same racist brush!

Everyone is allowed their own opinion even if it's one you don't agree with. Ask the other side of your question as to whether asians living in Britian are racist and I think you'll find an answer you don't agree with either.

Multi culturalism is something that was placed upon us without our opinions being sought. We are supposed to be a tolerant society, however tolerance means putting up with something not nessecerily liking it and I think that's about where we are.

Not true! Yes, there are a lot of racists out there and like you say, much of it hidden. But I have been into 'an Asian's house and I have eaten their food. Also when I was very unwell, my friend, who is Indian, brought us round meals she cooked to save us bothering.

Please make an effort to get to know some of these people from different backgrounds...there is good AND bad in ALL races.

YOU sound like a racist. Most Brits do not want to live in a multi-cultural society because we have to put up with BIGOTS like you. If you're not happy living here please feel free to leave at anytime.

You have made yourself sound racist!!!
I see people as people not where their from,What their religon is or what colour skin they have!! I know there are racists out there and maybe if everyone realised that we are all here to live our lives and that one day we will all die which makes us all the same maybe this world would be a better place.
