I tried to tell the boss I would like to leave. He interviewed someone else but they never turned up for me to show them what to do. He then asked me to stay on. But I feel it isnt for me.

You should submit your two weeks' notice in writing and hand it to your boss in person. Say that the job wasn't the right fit and let him know when your last day is going to be. You don't owe him an explanation, nor do you owe it to them to stay.

There are two sides to this:

1. You may just need time to adjust to the job. Sometimes, when you start a job, it feels very foreign for some time, but then you begin to be used to it and like it. This may be what is happening to you.

2. More likely though, this is the case: you thought the job was one thing and now realize it is not what you were looking for. If you have another option open, put in your two weeks' notice. The boss can't make you stay; he can only ask that you stay. If he can't find a replacement for you to train in time, he will (unfortunately) have to train a replacement himself. Not a great situation, but it's not really your problem either.

Good luck finding the right job for you!

Anything new in life takes time to adjust, maybe you feel out of place or not part of the team yet? If that is the case give it time and you will see things will fall in place.

Or if the job is not what you want to do, then the simplist thing to do is give your two weeks notice. Finnished. Remember your boss is there to supervise you at work. He cannot control your life unless you want to give him that power.

Find a new job first, then quit. My cousin had a good but quit because he didn't like his new boss. He hasn't worked in 18 months.
