Barack Obama is an excellent candidate for the 2008 election. Anyone who says he has no chance beacuse of his name is retarted. Its time for change!

You italisized "majority", do you mean, white folk???
Barack and Hillary all the way! America needs a serious change, times have changed but the regiment stays the same. Skull and Cross Bones are still leading the country after all these years.

I think he has a pretty good chance. Although there are many factors to consider: fundraising, name recognition, who the other candidates are. Anyone that says he doesn't have a chance is underestimating the power of a good political grassroots campaign.

I don't feel he has a chance getting to the big dance... We have to become used to the fact that Hillary is going to be the next Democratic Presidential canidate. What scares me more than that fact, is America is dumb enough to elect her into office. We have that problem of going so many steps forward and then going several more back. I would hope that the American public rememember the state of the country when she and her husband were last running our country!!!

Who knows?
Is there any other country in the world where a guy with a name like that can put his hat into a ring for public office, where a guy like Arnie who has struggled with a horific accent when speaking English can win a gubernatorial seat by simply using his Predator fan base?
Hurrah for the good old US of A.
So you will vote for his opponent. At least he ran.

people don't know where he stands yet. The only three things that he has going for him is that (1) he's black (ish). he was raised by his white mother, and his father is African, but people only look at the skin color (2)he has gone through diversity, a little of the American dream (3) NO ONE has any clue where he stands politically, morally, etc.

so, we'll have to see. Is America ready? America is ALWAYS ready. people are always asking that question, and America always defies it.

NO chance. MOST american are not ready for that. And just as well becasue, as an individual HE should NOT be in that position. Personally, rather have Colin Powel over him.

People are so gullible after past mistakes you'd think they would check out his background. Just how long has he been attending church? What about deal with Rezko? Real father's affiliation?
