I turned the jeep up onto a narrow ramp and caught the Jeep body behind the front right wheel on a ramp guardrail. It tore off a good 4inches of the body.

This is not my car - someone else will be taking it in for an estimate, but I will be paying the repair cost.

I have never owned a car. I know this is a nice expensive vehicle. I'm trying to find out what I'm in the hole for, before it surprises me.

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee; however it is a 6 cylinder. I get about 19-21 in the city and 24-26 on the highway. I would imagine a V8 would get a little less than what I experience. I love my Grand Cherokee. It has been fun to drive and very reliable. If you are getting a good deal, I would say, "Go for it!"

Body work is expensive due to the labor cost repainting etc. Also best bet would be to get at least 2-3 estimates and check with better business bureau on complaints against the shop. This way you can be sure of getting the work done correctly and for a fair price.
