I always try to pay. As the relationship has progressed I am more willing to let her treat (she insisits). I think it is a crucial point in a relationship to say we both can pick up a tab etc.

The man should pay the first few dates, but if it's a steady thing the woman should start paying also, or at least offering to - especially it's her idea to go out and/or she picks the restaurant. I don't want to be a drain on someone's finances and I'm def not a gold digger, but a cheap man is a turn off. I wouldn't date him if he was just being a cheap @$$.

im reminded of the 60's song ' the snake '.........a kind woman took in a half frozen snake and nursed it to health and it bit her a deadly bite , asked 'why' and the snake said 'shutup silly woman, you knew darn well i was a snake before you took me in'
