I have a Dell Desktop at home & don't have a house phone. Isn't there some type of wireless internet connection device that I can purchase so I can go online. If you know of one please tell me how much it cost & where you purchased it.
Thanks!

your local cable company or DSL(phone company). They will have to come to your house and set it up. Some cell phones have wireless internet that connect to pc using bluetooth, but you better live in city or it probably won't work very well.

Cable provides Internet and now some Power Companies do also. Give them a call.
I feel that since taxpayers built or paid for the building of the Internet access should be no charge. Either do not charge us or take the ads off. Like Premium Channels, we pay for a service then we are bombarded with advertizers messages. We paid the Tax $ that built the internet, give us a fair deal. No ads since we allready paid for this, or ads with $0 payment, like Broadcast TV.
Call or write your congress people and tell them.
But back to reality, Power Companies and Cable Providers offer Inet access.

How friendly are you with your neighbours? If they have a broadband connection you could discuss with them the possibility of you being able to connect to their wireless router.

If they don't have a wireless router, it'd cost about £50/$90 to buy. You'd also need a wireless adaptor in your Dell PC if you don't already have one, sold at about £10/$15. Perhaps you could offer to pay for half the broadband monthly fee in return?
