The reason I even looked at this question is b/c I have felt that way often over the years. You may be afraid to fail, you may be lazy, and you probably are depressed. When your depressed, everything seems boring. You probably don't have much hope things will change and you probably think your seeing things accurately. But in reality your down and your bogged down by your thoughts in particular. Start by just getting in the NOW. Become aware of your breathing and the sights and sounds around you and don't get lost in thought. Also, consider breaking out of your pattern. Find a book to read-maybe a self help book. Don't feel uncool for doing it either. Push yourself to risk failing at something. You have to admit, at least taking such a risk would be LESS boring! If everything is boring, what's the big deal if you fail anyway. Your desire to grow and know yourself will payoff. Really, there's nothing more worthwile than this anyway- to grow. Allow for the possibility that you WILL see things differently 10, 20 years from now. Or maybe even one moment from now. Plus, when you connect with life a bit more you will naturally not be as lazy b/c you'll get interested in something. I always pondered the nature of boredom, and I found it curious that it is usually not about having nothing to do(there's always plenty to do), it is about not wanting to do anything. Finally, here's a short list of ideas:
1. Go to a bookstore
2. Walk or do something physical. Get in your body and out of your head.
3. Break your patterns.
4. Have a coffee to give you a little energy.
5. Writ in a journal. This one is a big one b/c you probably feel you need to be HEARD about something and just writing about it will give you some release.
6. Accept the reality that you are where you are and let it be ok.
7. Keep exploring self-help ideas and books.

Yes, it could be that you are just lazy. If that is the case, why? There is still a reason being that. You need to get excited about something in your life, if only just one thing. This may mean going out on a limb and trying something drastically different. Figure out what you would really like to do with yourself and make it happen. If you fail, oh well, I guess you are human after all. :-)

You just don't know what to do or how to start. Set a goal of something you would like to do. Make a trip to the library and set a goal to read a book, any book. Do it. Now, try something else, sounds like you just don't know where to go. Go to the red cross and get a volunteer job. Never worry about failing, every one does. Don't set your sights to high to start, take baby steps. Your local hospital is also a good place to start volunteering, you will soon feel great about yourself.

Life is boring when it is predictable. After a certain age, you need to find ways to actively seek new experiences, since your regular lifestyle will be fairly predictable (and so boring). For some people, getting married, having kids, is enough of a journey. But most people should also travel, or if you can't travel at least explore aspects of their own area that they have not.

Your life is getting ready for a change.
Enjoy this time, as major things are coming your way.

You need God. Without God life has no meaning. What is the purpose of your life? God will show you. Confess your sins and seek the Lords guidance.
