That's exactly what workmen's comp is for. When you go to the doctor make sure you tell them it's a workplace injury. They have special forms to fill out.

It could be. It really depends on the circumstances and any follow up after the accident.
Was being hurt while actually performing your job. There has to be a direct relationship. Second were you actually hurt, did you lose any time, did you go to the doctor. Was the accident due to carelessness of the company, such as an OSHA violation, this could make it worse for the company. Were there any witnesses.
It is an uphill battle, and then the Workman's comp does not pay you your whole salary, only a part of it.

I own a small consturction company. If you hurt yourself at work you need to report it right away. If the company does not have workers comp then it is the bosses job to take care of you. If they do have workers comp then he can choose to report it and make a claim or he can just take care of you him self (some times its cheaper for him to do that) but Workers comp can choose to not cover you depending on what happened, how it happened, or it you were taking any drugs. But by all means tell your boss that you got hurt and most importantly be very honest because it can always come back and bite you in the but!!!

It depends on the circumstances. Also, if you do get hurt at work and want to file for worker's comp, FILL OUT THE PAPERWORK IMMEDIATELY!!!

If it's work related. If you just fell down and hurt your knees getting up from the chair, you are probably still be covered by liability insurance that the building owner carries, but it won't be WC.
