It's not about the amount of calories you eat, but instead a ratio of the amount eaten and the amount used. I live a very active lifestyle...so instead of a 2,000 calorie diet...I probably eat around 3,000-3,500. If your job keeps you sitting in the office and you don't get a chance to work out...then stick to the basic 2,000 calorie diet.
Key Point: I wouldn't focus on calorie intake so much as calorie usage. Cardio workouts are great for slimming and toning.

It depends on your "basal metabolic rate" which is the number of calories your body would burn if you laid in bed all day and didn't move! It depends on your gender, age, current weight and the amount of exercise/physical activity you undertake. For a woman of average build, size, weight and moderate exercise it is around 2000 cal per day. You need to "lose" 3500 calories to burn off a lb so eating 1500 cals a day means you burn off 3500 extra a week, so that plus exercise can lead to a loss of 1-2lbs a week. The bigger you are the more you can eat and still be under your metabolic rate. Try signing up to boots e-diets and they will guide you.

It is not so much in the calories you eat that results in weight loss, but in how many calories you burn. In order to [lose] weight, a 1200 daily diet composed of balanced meals containing fats, protein, good carbs, fruits, vegetables, dairy, etc... will be fine as long as you work out. Depriving your body of food will only put it into starvation mode, and store every little thing you eat as fat, so don't look for ways to restrict your diet, just make sure you're not going overboard with the food, and work out.

Each person is different. You need to know how many calories you burn during a day, then eat less then that.
You can work out to burn more, or eat less to consume less. But you have to have a negative in that category to loose weight.

DEPENDS. depending on what you do for the entire day. if all you did for the entire day is to watch tv, don't eat much. but if your doing a very rigorous activity during the day, or work hard during the day, there's a specific number of calories you need for energy to do these stuffs. because if your not getting enough calories, and do so many things, you might get dizzy or what.
try to search on the net about it. they'll give you the number of calories you need, depending on what height, age, activity, whatever. even yahoo has it's own BMI calculator or indexes regarding the topic.

A women needs about 2500 calories daily to maintain a weight. If you eat just 2000 a day you will lose weight. All you need to do is to cut out all fats, all sugar and halve your alcohol intake and you will lose weight without feeling hungry.

11 X YourWeight = A
YourWeight/3 X HoursAwakeDuringTheDay(ex:16) =B
A+B = Amount of Calories normally
Cut this amount by 500 while exercising off 500 and you should lose 2 lbs per week.

eat as much as you wish until you get full.
you really don't need to count calories.
don't over full yourself. Also, use smaller spoons/forks and smaller plates/bowls. Papper plates etc work great.
This helps satisfy you faster and will make you eat less.
Also, best way to lose the weight is to actually do something. Jumping jacks etc.
Can email me and ask for specific areas to lose the weight on and I can prolly help with that.
