The heater core is in the firewall, just every other vehicle. Engine size is irrelevant. If you open the hood, there are two hoses connected to passenger side of the firewall. This is where your hot coolant enters and leave the heater core.

Check under the hood to make sure hot water is circulating through those small hoses(one front-one back).Hot means to hot to hold onto for more than 2 seconds-both hoses when engine is hot. My '75 chevelle lost heat when the heater control valve(metal piped mushroom on rear of intake manifold) failed internally. Make certain that system is full of coolant and that vacuum switches are working correctly-(if not then troubleshoot vacuum supply to climate contol header)-"interior knobs". If all is well then replace heater control valve.

On the passengers side.If you will raise the hood, look at the passengers side fire wall and you should see a fan motor for the heater located their. If it is not working, check for power at the motor electrical connector with the switch in the on position with a test light. If you have power and does not run, disconnect the ground wire, clean and re-tighten.Still doesn`t run replace fan motor.Check heater hoses for proper connections.Check for inline water valve in hose to be open.If not replace or repair.

Under the dash my friend. The heater hoses or under the hood. one comes off the water pump the other is off the intake. Make sure there connected if your just having a no heat problem. Alot of people jump them out just put the hose from intake to water pump. When the heater core rupters.
