The President sends our soliders. Day by day families lose someone special. The people in prison get feed by us taxpayers. I know our Soldiers are proud to to represent the U.S. Why not put the criminals on the front line. Most of the criminals deserve to die. Not the innocent.

Whilst I can see the appeal of your idea, I really dont think it would work, how would you make them fight, whats to stop them from going AWOL. The Armed Forces are just that, when soldiers join they know there is a risk that they will have to fight. I think the real war is with President Bush, he is the one sending soldiers to die.

Well for one the constitution says they are not free.
And would you really trust a convict to go over there an not sell out to the Iraq?
Plus there are ALOT of unstable people there. I am from a military family and have dealt with friends of our family and family fighting wars and political fire even before I was born, the thing one particular individual told me from his mouth was "I knew when I joined that this possibility was there, I signed up and here I go!! Not all feel that way but initially if people were more informed about the risks before they join, then I think military family's should be supportive of thier loved one's choices and not blame the gov't for it. I agree with the part somethings are better left alone. But I speak with experience. May they R.I.P.....they died doing what they chose to do.

And the media would have an absolute field day. So much for a professional volunteer army.

I can see the headlines now:

"Crips and Bloods Armies rampage through Iraq"

"Mass Rapes follow US sending Prisoner Soldiers to Iraq"

"Is Iraq the new Columbia? Cocaine snows through Bagdad"

As someone who has been in the Army for eight years and plans on being in much longer I take offense to this question. Sometimes it is hard to get along with people in the service because of different lifestyles or choices but you can always have respect that they did serve and that they are NOT felons. The fact that you would even think about tarnishing one of the finished occupations in America by putting the worst the country has to offer into is just a horrible idea. Not to mention how would you ever think to get them to listen to you. The object of the military overall is to get the nation you are fighting to, eventually, have enough respect for you as a opponent and realize they can never win to give up and sway to your demands. This will never happen if your fighters are raping their daughters and doing unjustified killings.
P.S. This is why the military got rid of the "Go to war or go to jail" idea.

i became 17 after I joined the Air rigidity. Vietnam became nonetheless happening and that i had the possiblity of going there. although, it became some thing i had to do inspite of the posssiblity of going to conflict. My mom became worried about that and she or he saved asking me if i realized that i'd get killed. yet that did not difficulty me. even as i became by with college i became assigned to a SAC base. that they had quite a few bombers loaded with nukes and gas to fly into Russia and have interaction in WWIII. anybody there knew that if those bombers took off, they were no longer coming back; and, better than likely, we would want to quickly be lifeless for the reason that Russia might want to bomb us. yet that did not save us from doing our jobs. What i'm holding is that once someone will advance their hand and states they're going to serve, they understand what they are transferring into and performance weighed the fee of it. they could die or be wounded, yet they serve willingly and need for the perfect. No figure needs to lose a baby in conflict, yet each and each is likewise responsive to that there is a value to stay in our u . s . a . and their toddler might want to ought to pay it. they are afraid, yet might want to in no way carry the youngster back.

First, most of the criminals do NOT deserve to die.

Yes, the soldiers ARE proud to represent the U.S. (most of them, anyhow). And we have a voluntary military, because that is what enables them to be motivated, etc.

Why send people that are not trained, inept, and unwilling to do the duty of the US military?

Yes, what a brilliant idea. Let's degrade our military by including convicted child molesters and rapists in it. Let THEM represent the United States in foreign countries. That would really improve our image, and make the Iraqi people look up to us.

yes,you do have a point. but the problem with sending "our prisoners" to war, but what guarantee do you have that the prisons will fight for the u.s.a. and not against it. since they were in jailed already for doing something against the morals of the united states, they can again turned their anger against us over there.
the war is war. and some people like myself, think we have been over there way too long and not much as been accomplished. but i also think it is very heroic what our soliders are doing over there. most soldiers dont want to be over there but they have no choice.

That would not be the way to show what Americans are like. Do you have no pride in this country?
People learn by example. Your character in asking a question like this makes me ashamed.
In answer to your e-mail: You should of learned as a child that, "two wrongs do not make a right".

well, there are a lot of reasons. first of all, why should the iraqi people get our criminals? who would play warden to them? sending violent criminals out into towns of unarmed civillians would be worse than what we've done to them so far.

there are just too many things wrong with the scenario.
