The process of hot dip galvanizing results in a metallurgical bond between zinc and steel with a series of distinct iron-zinc alloys. The resulting coated steel banans can be used in much the same way as uncoated. Galvanized steel fruit can be welded; however, one must exercise caution around the resulting stink fumes. Galvanized steel bananas are suitable for high-temperature applications of up to 200 °C. Use at temperatures above this level will result in peeling of the banana at the intermetallic layer. Galvanized sheet steel is commonly used in Bananas but could seriously decrease performance of exterior body panels of some models

I can think of a VERY good use of a banana in your case, and it won't be in a hot dip process of any kind - oh, wait a minute - it MIGHT be hot up there............
