absolutely, a smaller ball is used in women's soccer games b/c it can travel further and faster w/less energy or strength from the kicker. Here is one good explanation: The size (and thus also the weight) of the ball affect how far it goes. To shoot a ball, you give it some energy. If the ball is lighter, it will start at a higher velocity and end up going further. Therefore, if made of the same material, a small ball is lighter and will go further. An equally important factor is the air drag, that is, the resistance of air
as the ball moves. You can experience air drag by holding your hand slightly (not too far, dangerous!) out of a moving car window and feel the drag force. This force is also increases with size (and with velocity).

It does affect the game. Maybe much more on lower level of soccer, then professionals. For example, You'd use a smaller size ball on 11 year olds because if the ball is too big for them, There will be lower level of control.

Practicing with a small ball does wonders for your skills. I was in a soccer school where we used size 3 ball or even tennis balls for everything except official games. It greatly increases your mastery...

Yeah.
In the 2006 world cup in Germany, a ball was used with 14, yes, 14 panels, with some of the tiny cute little hexagons joined 2gether. The normal 1 usually has about 26-28 panels all hexagon shaped. Did u c da goal dat Lahm scored? Maxi Rodreges? Beckham? If you didnt, then... WHERE WERE U?!?!?!?
The ball made it spin like weee! Oliver Kahn-No chance with one of them!
So there you go. A lecture on why this happens.
Next week-whatever you ask next.. the possibilities are endless...

Yea, it can. When you a play a sport, the texture, size, and weight of the ball really affects how you play because you might be used to playing with a certain ball or whatever. So, if any of that changes, it could throw you off some and you'd have to adjust all over again to the new size, texture, or weight. If you were playing basketball and someone gave you a heavier ball, it could throw you off because you'd have to adjust how high, far, or hard you shoot the ball. In soccer, I know that texture, or the surface of the ball plays a big part. Sometimes the ball might be slippery and sometimes rough and you'd have to maybe adjust where you kicked it. With weight, you'd have to adjust how hard or soft to kick it. All of these things can really alter how you play, because sometimes you're so used to playing with a certain type of ball.

yes. a larger size equals more air resistance which will slow it down. but in a vacuum it will not affect it
