If your baby isn't doing well on either milk or soy based formulas your doctor may prescribe a special formula like Nutramigen or Allimentum. My oldest son had a problem with the iron in formula and we found Nestle Carnation Good Start worked great for him, subsquently used it for my youngest two as well.

My baby was on Similac when he came home from the hospital, and it was awful! He was spitting up and out of air; the first formula the doctor changed it to was Enfamil, and things got much better. There are also other formulas out there that address these issues; my son is currently on Prosobee by Enfamil and we haven't had any tummy problems since. Good luck!

Ahh. I hated those days. They aren't that too long ago for me as my baby just turned 3 months yesterday. Anyways.......we realized my bub just could not take all the Iron in all of the formulas so we had to switch her to Low Iron by Similac. She is a new baby. She doesn't scream like she used to. She also got diagnosed w/Reflux. She is on Baby Zantac by prescription. That works too. Your bub may have that. Babies w/Reflux have been known to spit up. Try not laying baby down right after a feeding and burp frequently. I would say every 2 oz. Drs. may also put them on a thicker formula to help keep it down. My doc gave me Enfamil for babies who spit up. I didn't even try it cuz my baby just cannot take all that Iron in these formulas. I make her a cereal bottle before bed and that helps so much. Plus, throughout the day, I give her little spoonfuls of cereal to help thicken the contents of her stomach. She was constantly hiccuping too. The thicker the consistency is in her tummy, the better off she is. I don't know how old your baby is though so don't do what I do w/the cereal w/out first consulting his doc which you are going to today right? Ask if you can feed bub a little cereal. Also, ask about acid reflux. Does bub pull forward during or after feeding? Does he cry a lot? Plus spitting up are all signs of Reflux. Good luck and God Bless both of you!

My son was put on Alimentum (or Nutramigen) due to soy and milk protein intolerance. It's very expensive at about $25 a can that only lasts 2.5 days or so. He still spits up. Almost all babies spit up. It's when it is over half of their intake or projectile that there is cause for concern. Good luck.

Spitting up is common with most formulas. Spitting up is not the same as reflux. Most babies spit up and it is not a concern or problem. However, reflux can be a very serious problem and have risk of aspirations with it. A good check up by the pediatrician should put you at ease. Best of health and happiness to you and baby.

my youngest daughter is allergic to milk(figured this out after changing formulas many many many times) They put her on Similac Alimentum...it is an elemental formula. Now she is on Neocate Jr.(she is 2 1/2) which is amino acid based. Neocate also makes an infant formula as well(although both Alimentum and Neocate are expensive...Alimentum is like $32 a can and Neocate runs around $44 a can.)

Breastfeeding is a lot extra useful for infant. it truly is the acceptable nutrition, yet that being stated, there is no longer some thing incorrect with choosing to formula feed. I breastfed my son. he's 6 months now and we are trying to wean him onto formula, yet he has a milk hypersensitive reaction so it truly is not likely so properly. he's presently on Enfamil Nutramigen,it truly is hypoallergenic, yet he's stil havign a reaction to ir.

My baby is on Nestle good start. This one came recommended by several people and my 6 week old baby does not spit up. I found he was gassy but I bought the bottles with the plastic bags and they work very well.
