My boss is really old. Everyone around her Baby's her just to make her think that she is right so that they won't have to argue with her. Would you go to the Human Resources of your company to explain (what they already know) to them?? Or would it not even help??

this isn't a personal issue....she is rude to customers and employee's. If she is not getting her way then she just yells at ppl in a very confused way.

Ahh, sounds like the old bird is being put out to pasture, albeit, in a graceful way. Whatever deviousness you have in store for the boss will not work. She is circling the drain and any overt action would be considered just plain rude.

Let her fade away in peace....

if you decide to do this then you need to make sure you have more facts than just that she's old. one thing you need to think about is that she didn't get where she is because of her age or stupidity. there is a lot of wisdom there. she probably has spent years there and you may very well be the one who gets her fired and she loses her pension and whatever else she has invested there. which means this old lady would end up destitute and you would be the reason they forced her into retirement. do you want to be the person who does that just because you are irritated with her. and really what are your reasons...are they truly company oriented or is she just a nuisance to you and this is more of a personality issue. you better thing before bringing this to human resources...think about what it will cost her and you if you do this. personally i would let it go and try to learn from her no matter how irritating i thought she was, if there is a serious problem with her management skills they would know about it already. and if she is as old as you say she is she will retire soon. i wouldn't want to be the one that gets her fired and she loses everything. she is more than your boss she is a human being and has life outside of the office that you have no idea what she's dealing with. like you said they already know what the problems are and its obvious that those problems are not that big of a deal so maybe its more your perception. why not try concentrating on work and not make this a personal issue.

If they already know, you telling them won't make a difference. It will make you look like you lack loyalty and are a problem maker not a problem solver. Your next boss will be briefed by others about you. If you have verifiable examples to her doing something to harm the company, go to her supervisor and ask to talk. Present your facts not opinions. Talk about your concerns for the department and then let it go. Remember that there several possible outcomes concerning your complaint. Tthey might not fire her but give her a chance for improvement. They might do nothing. They might fire her OR they might start looking hard at you and you get shown the door..

Honestly, I wouldn't. It is obviously an unwritten law in your company that everyone babies and protects this woman, so you might be viewed as a troublemaker if you bring up what everybody already knows, as you said. Many organizations value seniority over productivity because they feel that respecting one's elders is more important than always being right. If this is the kind of organization you work for, and it seems to be, I can guarantee you that you would be just asking for a whole world of trouble if you bring it up to HR. You said she's really old- any chance of her retiring soon? You could just bide your time and wait for that to happen. If it looks like she won't be retiring any time soon and you feel like you can't stand it, it may be in your best interest to look for a new job in an office whose culture better suits you.

No do not do it. Age bring seniority. If Human Resources is already aware of the situation you could be perceived as a troublemaker.

well if she is as old as you say She has been with the company for a while So it doesn't matter what you say or who you tell She isn't going anywhere Just sit back kept notes on what she does and wait for her to retire

yes, I would file a grievence against her. I'd go to human resources if she was not doing her job or making you do things that aren't on your contract.

I would try at least once and then leave it alone. Keep doing your best at your job and don't worry about how people treat your boss.
