Generally they live to be from 10 years to 12 years old. In some cases they have also been reported to live for 15 years.

My alpine goat's grand-dam was 12 years old, had twins and place second in the aged doe class (6 years and older) at the national show. She's been in the aged class longer than some of her competition had been alive. Keep doing what you are doing and you could have years left. I would say average lifespan is 8 to 15.

Your goats are a very good age, they must have been well fed and housed and looked after. Sadly, they are almost at the end of their lives, twelve is very old for a goat. But as long as they are healthy and happy, I see no reason why they can`t live longer.

I have found that the lifespans of ALL creatures are exactly the same.
If you count the start of life from birth - the lifespan goes from birth , right up to the day the creature dies.
This happens EVERY time so it must be right!

I haven't figured out HOW each creature knows when to die yet. hmmm
Perhaps another session in the pub will resolve that little question! :~}
