I currently own a 02' pontiac firehawk. Current mods are long tube headers, underdrive pulleys, borla catylic converter, custom tune programmer, TNT nitrous system "setup to 100 shot." My current problem is when i accelerate light on the pedal it hesitates. A better description would be it lags a lil but only does it sometimes. The check engine light comes on, but doesnt blink. I was thinking that it could be the O2 sensors, but the guy who did my custom tune deleted my codes for that so it wouldnt pick it up. After driving it a day or two, the light went away and is now up again. I just had the fuel filter replaces 2 weeks ago and the computer retuned. It started when i was driving in the rain, but dont know if it was caused by that. I keep thinking maybe its my wires, but i looked and cant see a spark when it's dark out. I dont really want to take it to a dealership, due to they would charge me an arm and a leg just to tell me they have no idea...any ideas...would be great. thanks

i own a repair shop, and you can take it to auto zone, and let them scan it for you its fast and free, and will tell you if you have any bad sensors on it,that will cause this to happen,,that would be the best thing you could do for it,,then this way you,ll know at least what your dealing with,,good luck i hope this help,s.

First of all I'm a Mustang guy, but Nitrous is nitrous any way you look at it. This could be an issue...
TIMING!!! Whenever you're running Nitrous you must retard your timing, use a cooler plug, and use high-octane gas. These are a must.
Do you know how much your timing was retarded if it even was? Does the problem only occur when you're naturally aspirated? In other words... is the problem gone when you're using Nitrous? If so... the problem is probably too much timing was taken out.
Also... check your air filter. Maybe the car is sucking for air.
My bet though... timing.

I agree with the nitrous/timing/plug thing, but you mentioned wet or damp situation. i've run into this before and guessed/chased it til i asked a gm goodwrench guy.
he said start the engine and take a spray bottle and just lightly spray the engine compartment at night or in a dark area. if you see a lightning show its you plug wires. and darned if it wasn't that simple. the wires visually looked good. stick with high end wires since it seems like you have a lot invested.your headers may have something to do with the wires getting brittle.

Ok it can be a few things. Now that your check engine light is back on bring it to auto zone let them run the check on it and tell you what is wrong. Second if it is in the firing of the car. Because you said rain it reminded me of one of my own cars. Which has a coil pack on it. Well the car would run fine on dry days. As soon as it rained it would spit and sputer. The coil pack was cracked changed it out all ok after that.
