I know what you mean, those big prenatal pills are so hard to take. When I asked this question they pretty much laughed at me. I cut mine in half with a pill cutter and take them in two swallows. You may ask your doctor, I bought mine from a vitamin store, but your doctor may be able to prescribe another pill that may not be as big.

I couldn't swallow those big pills either. I took flinstone vitamins. My obgyn said that was fine to take instead of the big pill. I just took 2 a day instead of 1. I had a healthy boy of 8 pounds 9 ounces. I also ate very good every day!! He's going on 3 yrs old..woo-hoo!!

Wal-Mart sells pre-natal vitamins under the brand name One Source in a big, Pepto Bismol pink jar--200 caplets, I think. The dose is two pills, but each are about the size of Tylenol caplets. They also did NOT make me at ALL nauseous (the stuff the doctor prescribed did). Comparing labels between One Source and Materna, the commonly prescribed pre-natal vitamin, One Source has all the same nutrients in all the same (or greater) amounts, and is cheaper.

i know what u mean...i looked for the same thing....the only thing I could think of is maybe if you got a prescription they could split the 500mg or whatever dosage into 2 or 3 pills instead, so that its like 3 150mg pills instead....thats just an idea...I dont know if thats possible!
Or you could just cut the vitamin up before you take it

My girlfriend was told to take flintstone chewables during her pregnancy. Also, I am pretty sure that you can cut the pill in half. I hope this helps.

You need to take the pre-natal vitamin. This contains a balance of nutrients that help to prevent birth defects like folic acid. If you keep taking it, you will get used to it.
