Employers have until January 31th to put the W2's in the US Mail. If you no longer work there, call the payroll department and make sure that they have your current address. Most companies envelopes are marked do not forward, return to sender.

if you want to do an estimate of your W2 form, just look at your last paystub from the year. It will give you, your income and what you paid in taxes. That should be a rough start.

Also, keep in mind that a lot of companies outsource payroll and payroll reporting so the information may not be readily obtainable from your employer . . . you may have to wait until after they have been mailed.
