tire size/air pressure/load rating.

Means it will fit a 94 Chevy for one thing.

15 refers to rim size. R means it's a radial, probably steel belted. 205 and 65 refer to the size and width of the tire. 205 indicates the tire's section width, in millimeters.

65 indicates the aspect ratio (ratio between the height from the road to the wheel rim, to its width section), sometimes called the profile.

P indicates passenger vehicle.

There should be other numbers giving the load range and speed rating of the tire, usually expressed as a number followed by a letter of the alphabet, and the maximum pressure in pounds per square inch.

Size of the tire. The last 2 numbers of the seris gives you the rotation size, like 14 or 17 inch tires. in your example the roation of the tires is 15 inches. The first few numbers tells you rubber contacting the road area.

A tire shop can give you a percise answer. Ask them next time you ppull in for tire work.

The P means that there passenger vehicle tires (LT would denote truck tires) 205 is the size of tread in millimeters. the 65 stands for the percentage of the tread width that makes up the sidewall height. and the r15 tells you what size rims the tire will fit on.

205 is the width of the tire across
65 is the profile (from rim to top of tire)
15 is the size of the tire and rim (15" rim requires 15" tire)

205 is wider than 195
40 is lower profile than 65
then rim size is obvious.
hope this information helps
