I think quiet people tend to be more pensive. I'm not sure it's too much though. I think the world could stand to have more quiet poeple. Noisey people are too busy listening to themselves talk to stop and think.

Introverted people tend to think much more and speak much less. Sometimes the thinking is pensive and considerate, other times worrisome like somebody mentioned - this part depends on the individual.
Whether you want to call it 'too much' is subjective, and also depends on just how introverted the person is. Some of the greatest achievements of man are courtesy of Introverts who 'think too much'.
Shy is not the same as introverted, though many introverts do tend to be shy. A shy person might take longer to feel comfortable coming out, but once they do, you will often find they are extroverts afterall. Likewise, an Introvert might be mistaken as shy because they prefer not to speak unless they feel it's worthwhile and accomplishes something.

I don't know if they think too much, but shy and introverted people definitely keep their thoughts within themselves, rather than expressing it to others. Often, the very act of verbally expressing a thought (whether worrisome, sad, happy...) is enough to relieve the tension one is experiencing. So an extrovert BENEFITS by being able to release their feelings more often.
Introverts also tend to have more time to focus within as they are not always busy with intercommunication.

i am shy & introvert.
i used to be talkative but somehow to the new people i met they don't understand the way i look at & say things - giving bad first impression that i'm rude or else. During my childhood, my parents scold me for saying a normal thing (but with irritating voice tone or not serious enough-that i don't realize spontaneously). People just too fast to get misunderstood. That's how naturally i'm becoming introvert, hardly to start a relationship, but easily get crazy after being at.
shyness...primarily because i was raised to be shy at home. secondarily, maybe being at a single sex school for 5 years is long enough, made me shy to make friend with opposite sex collegues.
Answer : They don't think too much, just shy.

Well I am both and yes I think too much! I'm always analyzing situations and people and what someone said.I feel as if I'm pretty intuitive as well and I can figure people out I just don't always listen to my gut instinct and wind up getting burned later. If their is nothing going on I'm either living in the past in my head or I'm fantasizing about something or another.

I'm shy and introverted.I pay more attention to what people say and do then they think though.I just prefer not to join in on discussions often.Everybody is different.I do spend a lot of time away in my own little world thinking.Probably because this world annoys me so much and I feel like I'm surrounded by idiots so often.

sometimes I don't think they think enough. Introverts, yes, I do believe they analyze a lot, but shy people, well.. they even shy away from their own thoughts!

Yes, they usually think everything over, sometimes excessively, before doing it. I have that problem myself sometimes. I was extremely shy growing up. Why? I have no idea. But I've become more outgoing over the years.
