Im just tired of everyone complaining about gas prices and not finding an affordable solution. I cannot afford a hybrid car and I dont know many who can. I am perfectly happy staying at home because I dont want to feed my addiction to oil any more than necessary.

Will the people who make an effort please comment?

Ride your bike to work more often. I think we should give tax breaks to people who also put on less then 7000 miles on their vehicles yearly. Also SUV's should have a special "gas guzzler" tax on them. Regulate through peoples wallets.

The US has more than double the oil of the entire middle east and south america combined within our continental borders.

Don't like high gas prices? Then lobby congress to switch over to domestic sources. We only have about a 500 year supply at current consumption.

By lessoning our dependency on the middle east, driving a small car with cruise control(constant speed saves gas), and encouraging our government to put money into alternative energy resources.

I don't complain, I just only drive when it's absolutely necessary. I know people who are getting in their vehicle every 2 minutes to go out for some stupid crap. I go work, store, family's house, that's about it. We even cut back on our pleasure trips last summer for that reason. Having a motorcycle is nice too, 75 miles to the gallon rocks.

Bio-fuels, nuclear power both offer short term solutions. Solar power and "energy from the vacuum" offer long term solutions. Me, I walk as much as possible, and like you stay home quite a bit.
