We live in Pittsburgh, PA and want to be able to drive there in a day or less. We are a group of couples with some single friends, no kids.

We are looking now so that we are able to get a summer beach house rental. Florida is too far to drive.

Clearwater- St Petersburg or a little further south Longboat key or Siesta key- Siesta parties more . Distance is about 1000 miles . do -able in a day
In season I have two personal favorites; the Outer Banks of NC and the ocean beaches of Cape Cod
Newport RI has some great beaches and the town itself one of the great places to visit on the east coast. There is enough going in Newport to keep a diversified group of adults occupied for quite a while.
