I am sickened by the recent revelation a child has been held captive by an adult obviously sick. How is it that these monsters can come into the schools and even into the children’s bedrooms at night at steal and kill our children and the laws are allowing them to do so.
Most Child Sex offenders have already been in the courts and rehabilitated and released back into society. How can we protect or children if the government will not do their parts?
Charles Mason is held in prison because he is a “danger to society”. How can they in good conscience hold him and let these monsters roam the streets and live in our backyards?
I am now off the “Soap Box if someone wants to step up on it”

All of these people who are lambasting you about "the government" are playing stupid word games.
They know you know it's the judicial system.
Just another way to use their "you must be a Democrat/Liberal" crap again!
We understand the judicial system is a branch of our government!!

Now.....
Yes it is repulsive and unfathomable why child molesters are ever released back into the community to reoffend.
Most will reoffend. Even chemical castration won't stop the pedophile because it's a crime of intimidation and control over someone else's free will. Not so much a sexual problem. They have shown in numerous studies of incarcerated pedophiles this to be the case.
I don't think there is an appropriate solution. How many prisons can we build and fill?
At some point people are going to have to become responsible for their behavior! If you are over 21 and you know you have a problem ....and you don't seek psychiatric medical help then it is your fault. With all of the public health awareness available to every citizen of this country NO ONE can hide in the "I was abused as a child" excuse anymore. D*mn it !
If you were abused as a child GO GET YOUTSELF SOME HELP!
If you don't.... you have no one else to blame but yourself!
My personal feeling on the subject is hand that person over to the people who love that child who was molested. That's the way it used to be done!!!
The prison system was put in place only about 100 years ago.
Before that there was alot of vigilantism. If society really can't live with that as apolicy then either they should be incarcerated for the remainder of their life or we need to execute them.
I am a firm believer in capital punishment for SOME criminal behavior. I feel people who prey on the children should be executed. They cannot be successfully rehabilitated. Why should they be released to offend another child?
We as a society have become too complacent with punishment.
I know a good many people feel even murders are entitled to the right to exist.... but I disagree.
Every person living in our society is given the same freedom of existance and choice.
If you CHOOSE to break the law you should be prepared to get what you have coming.
In many cases if you murder or rape you should be gone!!
Why should the rest of us have to support your life because you chose not to value it?
That's just my opinion.

Since we the people are the Government here then you are so right not to trust those that don't vote! They were asked to vote for the sake of better representation and look what happened when they did not show up again! This guy could have been defeated in the first round, but no! Now the Voters have a black-eye because someone did not come forward with their knowledge of miscreant activity on foley's part! What a mess for the taxpayers now!

You are so right, there are people like John Walsh making a difference and he has been doing this for over 20 years after the death of his son who was murdered. With his many appearances on "Larry King" show on CNN and his own TV show "America's most wanted" some good things have changed with laws in some states. The stepfather of Shawn Hornbeck started doing something right after Shawn went missing along with his mother by forming a foundation to do something to make people aware of these terrible CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN.

It all starts with the people who have been affected and the rest of the population who has empathy for all who have suffered. Together they have to make waves that change the laws. The judges we elect must be strong in their decisions how the criminal should be punished and for how long or should their lives be taken away if they committed murder or even worse torture for many days, weeks, months or years. Let the time fit the crime.

Social scientists have studied people who are guilty of doing things to others that causes permanent damage or death. Some say they need pity and treatment. Others say let them rot in a cell in solitary confinement. Others say it costs the citizens too much money to house and feed them for years and years.

There are many things that have to be seriously thought out how to handle these people men and women that harm children. There will never be a perfect answer that fits each crime but if we take these crimes seriously and demand from our local, state and federal officers to put them away, out of sight then at least they are not on the streets and not in reach of our loved ones.

It is not the government job to protect the children but the parents and the courts. THE courts have been the ones who are NOT protecting the children rather they have been protecting the ones who molest the children.
Get rid of the judges who are doing this and then see the difference! The judges are making laws instead of following them when it does not suit their ideas.

First, laws are in place. We have little control over those who choose to break them - until we can find them and bring justice to bear. And BTW, such instances are extremely rare. That's the reason they make the news. They draw viewers and sell papers.

Second, sex offenders are punished but never rehabilitated. There is no cure for pedophilia. Yes, they are released, but their release is publicized and they must register in the town where they settle. In many cases they are driven out of neighborhoods. Be a responsible parent, educate your children, but don't overreact. It's not as bad as the media make it out to be, believe me.
