Troops begging for food on the streets? Shouldn't you be working as a speech writer for this administration? That's a long jump from not financing a escalation of the war. Mrs. Pelosi has stated that cutting funding is off the table. Just more disinformation...

the point that the Dem's are trying to make is this. the war is not working there is no end in sight. We don't hate troops far from it. I even date one even if he is British. We can not keep spending money on a war that is become like vi team. and we all saw how well that worked for us. We need to spend to money on getting the people of Iraq to stand on there own feet. But being i true Dem i have to say we had no right to be there is the first place. But i think that the Dem's are not gonna just cut and run. But they are don't gonna let the fool in the white house do anything he wants either.

They will not fund the new surge. They want the troop size to gradually decrease and for the Iraqis to take over. We cannot stay there forever. It was a huge mistake to go in in the first place and the Repubs never had a plan to withdraw.
Even Repubs are angry about the idea of a surge that would kill more of our brave troops. Brownback, Hegel and others are dead set against it.

Joe Biden of Delaware did put forth a plan that involved dividing Iraq into three seperate entitites... 1 for the Sunnis, 1 for the Shiites, and 1 for the Kurds. This would effectively prevent the civil war into escalating into a larger conflict. It is impossible to fight alongside Iraqis when they are fighting amongst themselves. Only when internal tensions are eased will we be able to fight terrorism. Obviously Biden's plan would take careful planning and much more international support then we currently have. To touch on that, the International support we have is dwindling. While we send more troops in, Britain recently said they were pulling about 3,000 of their 7,000ish troops out.
Bottom Line: WE CAN'T EFFECTIVELY FIGHT TERRORISM UNTIL INTERNAL TENSIONS IN IRAQ ARE EASED AND WE GET MORE INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT.

I've answered this type of flaming, baiting question before and have decided there's no point in putting forth an intelligent answer as there is no one on the Republican side open minded enough to listen. It's exactly the situation the Democrats faced in the last Congress, being told they had no plan, where in actuality there was no plan the Republicans would listen to. The voters listened though and decided they'd like to hear more and they will.
Now, before you report me for a not an answer violation, I'll answer your so called questions with a simple and dignified "No"

Amazing how many people can't drop party politics.
"CUT AND RUN" is a phrase used by those who have no comprehension that THEIR way of looking at things is not the ONLY way of looking at things. Simply put, it is an extremist's rhetoric - black and white, no gray areas where we're phasing out our military presence in Iraq.
Thing you need to understand is, there is no "victory" because the fight we're trying to fight isn't ours. There's no integrity in forcing people to live as you want them to live. There's no valor in bullying a culture into democracy. Democracy at gunpoint is no democracy at all.
So knock it off with the incessant and pointless repetition of the ridiculous phrase, "cut and run." NO ONE of any consequence whatsoever has in any way suggested we should or can just bring all American troops home tomorrow.
But I (and most Democrats) do not support leaving them there indefinitely either. I don't want them in harm's way. I want their kids to have mothers and fathers. I want their parents to have sons and daughters.
So to answer your question, I suppose the Democrat plan for Iraq is to force Iraq to stand on its own two feet.
It's time for the coddling to stop.

It wasn't six months ago when Bush made a speech declaring that an increase in troops would eliminate any incentive for the Iraqi people to fight for them selves.
Gradual withdrawal will force Iraq to fight for itself.
If that doesn't work we can bomb them into the stone age.
Again.

What's the Republican plan for IRAQ? Will they continue to under equip the troops? Feed them second rate food via Halliburton? House them in second rate barracks via Halliburton? Provide them with contaminated water via Halliburton? Continue to profit while our troops get killed by the dozens? Continue to force the families and friend of the troops to provide protective gear? Continue to look the other way while hundreds of Iraqi citizens are killed everyday? Hmm, I wonder.

As much as they have criticized the Republican's plan for Iraq, they don't have one themselves. I'm still waiting to figure out exactly what they think they can do better. Oh well. At least we have a President who will have a clear strategy that he won't "Cut and Run" from.
