Snow Patrol sang a song called Chasing Cars, they wrote it after the lead singers dad use to say to him when he was young and chasing the ladies. That it was the same as a dog chasing cars, you wouldn't know what to do with it if you caught it..

Chasing cars is something dogs do. They are attracted by the sound and the shininess of it. It many times ends up fatal for the dogs who participate.
