I have two sons. One of them will be 14 next month and I have been talking to him about sex for about 4 years. I am married and the things that I cannot answer (because I am not a man) I get my husband to explain. If I were in your situation, I would find a male that I trust and that your boys look up to and ask him to have the talk with them. Make sure that he is someone who will teach your sons properly and that you guys discuss what he told them after wards but please let your sons know that you want to help them with anything that they may need to know. I work with children and I have seen what happens to children whose parents are afraid or don't talk to them about the birds and the bees. Good luck.

It is never too early talking about sex and sexuality with children.
Obviously, our talk will be different according to the guy's age.
Roughly, before the puberty (6-11) it is good and useful using a very simple chat rounded down and resorting to some cartoons and real animals as sampler. During (or after) adolescence (12-18) the chat should become harder and more scientific step by step, ranging from the sexual organs to the diseases. I realize that not any parent is able to do such chat, but today thank to internet you can know and find help about every topic!

Seriously? You're a single mom with a 12 year old? I find that very hard to believe.

I would offer two pieces of advice:

1) Work on your education. Kids respect those who work hard and set a GOOD example.
2) Sit your kid down and explain that you will always be available for any questions on any topic.

Are you sure you are a mom cause if he is twelve, and you are the mom is he writing this?

Cause your spelling is quite off, but anyways, explain to him that sex shouldnt be a sense of pride for him. (tell him when he is ready, but there its never too young to tell them)

He should use a condom if he does have sex and to wait till he is read. Tell him of all the STD's so he knows sex is just for pleasure and there can be consquences, tell him he can also get a girl pregnant from having sex and he should help take care of the baby when that happens.

go onto the internet and find pictures and topics on ways to start a conversation with them. then tell them to come to you for condoms before they start to have sex.
