I've been on the pill for about 5 years and this has never happened to me. I'm due to get my period on Sunday and just last night I started light spotting (a little brownish). Is this normal? It happened a little last month too. I take the pill consistantly around the same time everyday.

if your spotting before you bleed then it's the progesterone in your pill. ride it out a month or two, if it continues then talk to your doc about a different progesterone containing pill.

Spotting is completely normal with the pill. In fact, it is considered one of the main side effects of the pill. I know that my menstrual symptoms change over the years so it seems fine if your bodily responses to the pill change as well.

It is normal if you´re on one of those "tri" pills, with different dosages of hormones every week.

Have you recently started taking supplements or energy enhancers? This happened to me when I was taking something along those lines.

maybe you need a higher dose of hormones. You should call your doctor and ask him.
