If you feel sick in the am. when you wake up, make sure to keep crackers by your bed and have a few before you get up. That will at least keep you from throwing up right away, and maybe at all.
During the day, make sure to drink enough water so you aren't dehydrated, and have small amounts of tea, koolaid, apple juice, plus more crackers and maybe some broth or soup. No soda or OJ, that will just come back up. You have to eat a little something to keep yourself going, otherwise you'll get sick from not eating. Plus at least you'll have something in your stomach if you do vomit, there's nothing worse than the dry heaves.
Later in the day if you feel a little better, have some plain chicken breast, plain rice, applesauce, those are all pretty bland and will hopefully stay down.
If you have really severe problems, ask the doctor about meds that might help, I think there may be a prescription drug that's safe during pregnancy.
Hopefully you'll be over the worst of it by the end of your first trimester, like I was, and then you'll be starving all the time. Good luck and congratulations!

Yes, keep saltine crackers next to your bed. Before you even raise your head, eat a saltine or 2 and lay there a few minutes, then get up slowly. That will help with the morning sickness. Keep a few saltines handy. Don't let your stomach get completely empty as that will increase the feelings of nausea. Ginger tea helps during the day.

Here are some of the foods to eat when you're feeling queasy:
Saltine crackers, toast, rice, bananas, applesauce, gelatin, dry roasted nuts, frozen juice bars, potatoes, pretzels
Also, "Atomic Fireball" candies, lemon, ginger ale or ginger tea.
If NOTHING works ask your doctor about a prescription to help with the nausea that is safe to take while pregnant.

I had nausea and vomitting really bad when I was pregnant. A friend gave me some ginger Altoids and those helped a lot. They're really hard to find, but I think any kind of ginger candy would work. So try that. Good Luck!

I'm having difficulty too - the best advice I can give you, is eat what you want when you want - in small amounts, avoid fatty foods / strong smells, and try sucking on a mint imperial - they seem to help - not for long but any time is better than none

I eat lots and lots of dry cereal.
I also try to get at least 8-9 hours of sleep a night, and drink plenty of water. I've also found that following my normal routine, including going to the gym has been the best medicine.

Strangely, lemon drops worked for me too. Even better is if you can find some ginger syrup. A tablespoon of that usually does the trick.

Put some crackers by your bed and munch on those before getting up.
