my cell is not working? [only for indian people]?

my uncle from usa brought a cell which belongs to siemens company .when i inserted the IDEA OR AIRTEL simcard its asking to enter the code .i dont know the model number.can any body please help me.

you have to unlock the cell phone, It is
programmed to the cellphone provider in U.S
before using it in India.

Your phone is probably locked to the carrier the phone was setup on initially. what is the model number of the phone? You should be able to unlock the phone so that you can use IDEA or Airtel SIM card in it.
