Hi,
I was wondering if you still ovulate even if you don't feel your cervix open?
My hubby says he can feel it but it never feels open. We are trying to get pg,
but no luck yet. I have been off the b/c pill since Oct 21, 2006. I have had
pretty regular periods coming every 32 days, but still not sure if I am even
ovulating. My nipples have been sore and tender the last few month arounds the
same time each month, not sure if thats a sign I am ovulating or not.

I have a 5 year old girl, from a different relationship, so I don't think I am
infertile but I am scared my hubby is. We have been doing it every night, or
at least every other night since the start of this month. But I know I am not PG
I just know.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

The changes in the cervix are very subtle--when the cervix is open for ovulation or menstruation it is very very slight--like a milimeter. It is very hard to tell and it takes several months of checking daily to be able to recognize the changes.

Please note that having intercourse everyday is not a bad thing. Doctors usually enourage sex at least every other day during your fertile period. Daily sex is discouraged in couples where there is low sperm count. Generally in a healthy male with no problems daily intercourse is fine.

Many couples take up to a year to conceive. Be patient and enjoy trying to make your bundle of joy. You've not been off the pill very long, and the residal effect of the pill can linger for a little while, Don't stress too much it will impact your ability to conceive...

A fertility monitor might be helpful. Pee on the stick a week or so a month and it will let you know when you are most fertile. I hated having to keep track my self... If after six month using a monitor see your doc...

Just hang in there... I am trying too and haven't had that positive test yet! Just be patient

When you ovulate your husband will NOT feel your cervix open !
You are ovulating and having regular periods. The best thing you can do is have sex the 15th - 17th days AFTER your period to try to get pregnant. You husband should not wear tight underwear and you don't need to have sex every day. So for example, you get your period on Feb. 1 you would want to have sex on Feb. 16th or 17th .
If after 3 months, you may need to have your husband get checked by a doctor for a sperm count. Are you sure he didn't get vasectomy before he met you ? If he did, you won't get pregnant from him ! Hope that helps you !

I think you're just to focused on getting pregnant. I've seen it many times where couples are trying their hardest to get pregnent and it seems impossible that they're not getting it done but often once they stop trying and focus on other things all of a sudden there it is. You've only been off the b/c pill for about 3 months and that's another very common factor, Especially if you've been taking b/c for a long time it can take a while for body to adjust once you stop. Just try and relax and take very good care of your body, eat healthy etc... I'm sure it'll work out when the time is right.

Why not make an appointment at the family clinica nd get checked out, especially your Hb. The incidence of infertility is higher in men than in women.
Having sex every night might be great fun for him, but what is happening is that the sperm count is being lowered each time you have sex.

If he has a low count generally, sex every night or other night doesn't help. It may be his sperm are too weak to penetrate or die on the way. Whatever you need to eliminate the possibilities of his sterility so you can make other decisions

Depending on how long you had been on the pill may dictate how long it will take to conceive. Every woman is different. I didnt have my baby until I had been off the pill for 16 months! Be patient! BTW, I dont think your cervix is supposed to open....It only opens when you are having a baby. Its called dialation. Use www.mymonthlycycles.com to find out your choice conception dates and period days. I used it before I ahd my daughter. It WORKS!

Me and mine were trying to get pregnant for 1.5 years and I wasn't on birth control or anything and it took me that long to get pregnant with regular sex at least 5 times a week. Then I got pregnant finally, we had a miscarriage, tried again then 6 months later got pregnant again and now i'm 15 weeks. It took my godmother 14 years of trying, she went to all kinds of fertility specialist and everything she finally gave up and now she has 4 kids. You can never tell sometimes what'll happen.

your cervix will not open when you are ovulating. the best advice that i can give you is to buy a fertility monitor. they sell them at wal-mart. they can tell you when the best times to conceive are. that way you don't have to have sex every day of the month.

Take a longer break in between intercourse, so his little soldiers can build-up. I don't think your old man is broke. Relax and enjoy conception it's something you're going to remember your entire life.
