Think of all your interests & ask yourself if any of those could be expanded into a business. Just keep in mind...what's your expertise? What are your interests? What could you imagine yourself doing?

By researching the prospect of starting your own business -- what it entails, what you need to know, helpful hints, etc -- you'll feel better prepared to take that plunge.

I found some book titles that are relevant to your specific question:

* The Best Home Businesses for the 21st Century by Paul Edwards
* Selling Online: How to Become a Successful E-Commerce Merchant by Jim Carroll

If you have the start-up capital and you need to generate revenue from outside of your town (my assumption) and you have experience selling used products, trading on exchanges like ebay and yahoo auction makes a lot of sense. You have a lot of time flexibility and can make some decent money if you know what you are doing. You might want to start small (pepper spray isn't that expensive) and see whether you like it. Definitely try not to part with much of your hard earned or saved money until you are sure you know what you want.

good luck

House sitting, lets you do computer work at the same time.
Baby sitting.
Plant care.
Can you do shopping for people that don't drive.
Can you do House cleaning it's steady and pays very well, if you can do it?
Heat watch on a daily basis as a freeze up can do thousands of dollars of damage, when people are away.

Pet care if you love animals people can't take most animals on vacation when they want to go to Disney or Las Vegas.
Baby sitting is paying 10.50 a hour in the N.Y. area remember most families have 2 people working full time and they have limited chances to go out so they pay quite well nowadays for dependable babysitter.

I once owned a small company, fortuitously for me my dad and mom funded the starting up up expenditures for me, have you ever tried asking someone for a money personal loan? Write up a legal binding settlement inform you relatives/acquaintances whoever loans you the money you'll take care of it as i classic personal loan. once you have not got any success there ring the Small company Centre an get your questions replied there, ask about authorities funding and provides that could be accessible to you. yet my ideal suggestion is in case you do not have the money then you do not favor to initiate a company,(and that speaking from journey)reason as i learnt that once you should borrow the money and that's real at the same time as they say that ninety 4.35% of first company vendors do flow BANKRUPT interior the first 2 YEARS then you develop into screwed for existence. Or a minimum of the subsequent 7 years at the same time as you contained in the act of financial ruin. imagine of alternative concepts like partnerships and investors first, if not then do as all of us do and paintings flat out AND save!!!
