the beginning of time, the bitter cold of a Russian gulag, onto the beautiful beaches of the Pacific, into the suburbs of 19th century England, through the trenches of World War I (and II), the Holy Land, the castle of Camelot, the Greek acropolis, the land of Middle Earth, to Reed College in the Pacific Northwest, to New England in the 1920's, to a Canadian community for the intellectually disabled, and then to the Grand European council of anarchists, into a Benedictine monastary, a Carolingian court; I've gone fishing with an old man, stoned prophets in Asia Minor, been stranded on deserted islands (more than once), and am currently being led through Rembrandt's studio, though it bores me and I hope to be finished soon. =)

...great question.

The Lands of Oz, Narnia, Middle Earth, and Wonderland; the White House; Bombay and Calcutta; the coast of Scotland; Kindle County; a deserted Thai island; Pompeii; ancient Egypt; on the London tube system and the Chicago El; 1980s NYC; 1950s Cuba; 1940s Watts; and 1930s Tokyo. I've also walked the length of the Tabasco province of Mexico in the hot summer sun with a wanted priest; I've gone to a mental asylum to visit a serial killer & cannibal; I've traveled the ocean in a lifeboat with a tiger, a hyena, and a baboon; I've spent 100 years in Columbia with a whole lotta guys name Jose and Aureliano; and I've followed the lonely last gunslinger from Gilead through the many worlds, searching and searching for the Dark Tower.

What a great question....

I sat on the throne of good Queen Bess.
I was devoured by a bad bad Highlander. (smile)
I sailed all the oceans and seas with whomever I fancied at the moment
I have climbed the Himalayas
I have been to every country in Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia, as well as many parts of AFrica.
I have travelled in a chuckwagon making my way across North America to reach the golden West
I have been to far away planets and travelled in space
I have dived in the ocean, travelled with Nemo and his crew
I have seen volanoes erupt and watched tidal waves devastate entire cities
I have held down almost every occupation known to man, including serial killers.

I am sure there is a lot more, but hope this will suffice for now. :)

I have traveled to the distant future in a "Time Machine". I have traveled to the roaring 20s to meet "The Great Gatsby". I have traveled to a "Jurassic Park" and the far reaches of science. I have traveled to 14th century Europe in the height of the Black Death to see "The Great Mortality". I have traveled to 19th century America and met some interesting "Little Women". I have traveled through an innocuous "Wardrobe" and seen a "Lion" and a "Witch". I have traveled alongside a man and seen "The Five People You Meet In Heaven". I have traveled to 19th century Russia to see "The Death of Ivan Illych" and "The House of the Dead" as well as a torturous "Crime and Punishment" for one young man. This is just the tip of the iceberg which encompasses my many travels and adventures.

Well most reciently I went to see a three story cow in Fablehaven. Right before that was and extended visit in Narnia. Before that was England with a man named Ransom, and then in Paralandra, and Malacandria. Nice places if you know the Solar language.
Prior to that I was reading Eragon but had the feeling I was on Tatooeen or on my way to Rivendale at Middle Earth, mainly because the book was so much like a cross of Starwars meets Loard Of The Rings.
Right now I am freezing my bum off in Martin's Cove with the Handcart company of 1856 wondering where the great Bearded One, O.P. Rockwell, was during the whole rescue...
Christmas I was Kidnaped in Scotland due to my crummy uncle.
Thanksgiving I was fishing with Norman outside of Missoula.
Prior to that I was on an island with a bunch of guys worshiping the lord... We just got the fat kid Piggy, and Sam & Eric are jabbering away. Halloween time I spent some time viewing a horrific massacre in south west Utah at Mountain Meadows...
Prior to that I crossed the states with courage, joining Lewis & Clark... and prior to that I was with Gordon Sumner watching his mum kiss someone else that was not his dad in England...
This was right after my summer on the Mississippi with Tom & Huck... But I took a side trip to Alaska to visita friend on the side of a mountain named Malcom Daily... in the spring I visited Tibett with the Dalai Lama...

Just like Johnn Cash sang... I've been everywhere man...
And now you knw where I have been.
Wow! That was fun! Great question!!! Thank you.

Somerset Maugham's " The Razor's Edge." Having served in an exotic port of call far far away, I could relate to the message of searching for meaning and redemption. I still reread the book. It is one of the few that I do. Life is a journey in search of meaning. This is one of the books that makes me relive it. It is a travel in time rather than geography.

İt depends on the book you're reading. I mean if the environment is quiet around me, the book can take me directly into it. I can live within a story, become a patient of a doctor, try to solve a crime with the detective or anything similar to these can happen with a book...

Lately I've been running around in circles in the Wheel of Time with the Dragon Reborn and I'm getting tired of it! Get on with saving the world and do something already! You'd think that by the 11th book they'd have accomplished something by now! Geez!
