i am a mother of two very healthy girls. i ate whatever i wanted when i was pregnant. my last one who is now 2 months old wighed 7lbs, 3 ounces. i ate pizza all the time, chocolate, candy, anything i wanted no lie. i mean i did also eat a lot of steak and brocooli but i didnot do it because people said i needed to eat healthy i did it because it was what i wanted. i gained 50 lbs which i feel is not bad and i have already lost it. i was much happy being able to eat what i wanted rather than be stressed out about it all the time which i think would cause more harm to the baby, the stress. your baby will take what it needs from you. it will thrive unless you or the fetus have some other medical reason for it not too. also there have been studies of cafein drinks to cause lower birth weight babies, well while i did give up my coffee my need for coke was extremme and i drank it all day every day. i did feel a little guilty and the thought crossed my mind, what if she comes out tiny it would be my fault. but i have known way too many people that drank it who had bigger babies. my sisters baby was ten pound and she drank soda all the time. also it is just a studie and not enough evidence is there to support it. just be comfortable with yourself and eat what pleases you. it will make for a much more pleasant pregnancy.I did drink a lot of water though too which is important and make sure to take your vitamins. if they dont work for you flinstone vitamins have all the iron and folic acid along with all the other nutrients you need to get throught the day.

You should start eating right BEFORE you are pregnant. That way your body is already healthy and ready to carry a baby when you do get pregnant.
If you don't have enough folic acid in your diet, even before you get pregnant, the baby is at a higher risk of having spinal cord and brain problems such as spina bifida or anecephaly. Both of these can be very serious problems that can be fatal. The March of Dimes recommends that EVERY woman of child-bearing age take a prenatal vitamin containing at least 400 mg of folic acid. That way if you do become pregnant (on purpose or by accident), the baby has a good chance at being healthy.
So if you're already pregnant, don't wait until a month to start eating healthy. Do it now, for your baby's sake.

You're supposed to start eating healthy before you get pregnant. But once you get pregnant the first few weeks are the most important in terms of the babies development. You need to start eating healthy from the moment you learn that you are pregnant and continue to do so throughout your pregnancy. That will also make it easier for you to shed the weight after you have the baby.

You should start eating right as soon as you find out. The baby is still living off of your nutrients so you should start the day you suspect you might be. It is also best to get in the habit of eating healthy right away rather than waiting.

I wasn't even eating until I was 15 weeks along because I was so sick. I spoke with my doctor and she continued to tell me that it was ok, the baby was getting everything she needed from me no matter what. I never understood how this was possible if I was just throwing everything up that I put in. Once you start feeling well, you should try to eat better.

You should start eating right before you get pregnant actually, and taking a prenatal vitamin. It is also a good idea to start an exercise program. Not only does it keep you from gaining a whole lot of weight, it will make your labor easier.

Ideally you should start eating right as soon as you know you're pregnant. Make sure to get enough water too, and ask your doctor about how much caffeine you can have and which OTC meds are OK to take, like Tylenol, etc. Good luck to you!
