Imean I have witnessed conversations where men go on like they are so above it, but everyman does it or has done it or will do it in the future.It is nothing to feel self conscious about as it is a human function.

I reckon it's a combination of a) they think it's a sin, b) they think it shows they can't get a girlfriend, and c) they've heard it might make them go blind.
Both a) and b) are untrue - a) because in the Bible anyway, the sin was that Onan 'spilled his seed' to stop his wife having any children, not the masturbation itself, and b) because everyone does it even if they have the most gorgeous girlfriend.
As for c) I'm not sure. It's probably total b*llocks, I'd have to look it up but I'm a bit short-sighted.

Women masterbate also ... just don't like to talk about it either.
Masterbation is not a socially acceptable subject for casual conversation except among teenage boys going through puberty.
A Sienfeld episode (one of the funniest) did an hilarious job on the subject ... "Master of my domain".
There is a tackle and fishbait shop in my hometown ... the owners named it" Masterbait and tackle!

Its because everyone thinks that they are the only one that does it and nobody else does and that they will be singled out.
When I was in high school there was this kid sitting the back of the room "playing with himself" under the desk when he got caught by the teacher. And for the next couple of years following thats all everyone talked about when his name was mentioned.

One of the eternal mysteries. There are women who have less trouble discussing it.
Most everyone does it, but perhaps because it is essentially such a "private" thing, most people can't bring themselves to talk about it.
I don't have a problem with it; its as natural as water or air.

I'm no man but guys at my school aren't ashamed of it.. all i hear is who had sex with who.. and it's kinda obvious that they jerk off as well..if i'd ask a guy "hey do you masturbate?" he'd be like "you're kidding me right?"..you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure that out.

it's just a natural thing to do. i masturbate, my b/friend does, and everybody else i know does...i would never go out with a man that denies it as he's blatantly lying, and that makes me have no respect for the person whatsoever...we all do, we all have.
