i brought my avacado tree in for the winter,i grew it from a seed in a pot.it has been doing great,i had it near the window and its been a few months and all of a sudden all the leaves are turning brown drying out and falling off...so i moved it a few feet away from the window thinking it was maybe a draft from the window, not sure what to do.just to say all the leaves fall off and the stem and or branches stay green...it is still alive right?
anything will help...thanks

brown leaves mean its either been watered too much, the soil has accumulated too much salt, or its had too much sun. If you've overwaterd it let the soil dry out then begin a less frequent watering cycle. If its too much sun try moving it to a moist, shady place. And if its a collection of salts run water through the pot and let it drain freely.

I was hoping you had tips for me on how to grow one!! Everyone I've tempted to grow has always become the tallest tree-trunk only, with one or two leaves,, to the point to where I thought they were so borrying looking and not the actual real deal, that I just threw them away, you know...... And we're talking 4'-5' feet tall, with hardly no leaves at all on them!!! Just one long stem!! But, maybe that's how there suppose to be until they've reached full maturity, and are planted in the actual ground!!! Wow , I never thought of that!! I wonder if they'd grow out here in the desert? I'd like to start another one, and put it in my Mom's backyard, you know...... Hm? Thanx , for the idea!!!! smile!!!!

It is possible that there is too much salt in the soil and it need irrigating. Do not overwater the plant and plastic containers are not recommended.
