People say that to me all the time. I can't tell a lie because they know bye my face. It is just a expression it just like when people say they can read you like a book. You show your feelings on your face. I will give you a example a friend of mine gave me a gift for my birthday I didn't like, I tried to hide that I didn't like it but she looked and my face and saw my expression and she knew. I tried to hide it but my "open face" told her. I hope that helps you.

It means that you have some kind of sauce or gravy all over your face like an open faced sandwich.

it means you don not hide your emotions well. People can see on your face what you feeling and somtiomes thinking, they also say you have a poker face if they can't read your expressions.
