I'M IN THE SECOND PART OF THE BOOK AND REALLY DON'T GET IT, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT HIS BOOK IS ABOUT? I WOUL REALLY APPRECIATE IT. It is about many things. It is the search for identity. It deals with lost love and obsession with love. It is learning about what is important, social status and wealth or being good hearted, loyal and true to oneself and others. How should we judge people by their social status or by their deeds. PIP is turned into a gentleman through the wealth acquired by convict Jagger's success in Australia. Estella is perceived to be from the upper class but she is in fact the daughter of two convicts.
Each of the characters has to go through this process of self awareness of questioning what is important to them.
