Depends on your finances, your interests, and where there are the best jobs for your field. I am now living in New Hampshire, but I have lived in both Maine and Colorado. I find all three to be quite expensive in rent and living expenses (although I have found affordable places to live in Maine). I am going to have to vote for Maine since it is the state I want to move to most.

I voted for the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area. There are quite a few jobs in just about every field and there are many suburbs you can live in if you want to avoid living in the city. There are many things to do as far as entertainment. And it's very diverse here. The rent is a little high, but if you live in the city it is actually quite cheap.

Montgomery County schools were also voted best in the nation. If you have children that will interest you.

Texas! Beautiful, good housing market, no state income tax.
Great sports teams, good schools/colleges, every kind of landscape imaginable. Big cities and rural areas. Good BBQ and Mexican food. You name it and we pretty much have it down here!
