By evaporation.

The solution is placed in a crucible and heated. This will allow the water to boil off, leaving the salt, as crystals in the crucible.

1. Grammatically, your sentence is incorrect. It should read :- 'How can I separate salt from a aqueous solution?' Note the use of capital letters and the description of the 'mixture'.
2. Salt is not 'mixed' with water, but dissolved in water.

Put the mixture in a large open pan and let the water evaporate off leaving the salt behind. You can speed up the process by heating the water to the boiling point, but, let the last bit cool and evaporate at room temp. so you don't burn the salt that is left in the pan.

The salt, sand and water can form one mixture, the salt will dissolve in the water and the sand will not. steps in seperation 1. filter the mixture (sand can be extracted by filtration, which will leave the salt and water mixture) 2. Heat the solution gently in a flask with a stopper that has tubing running through it and into a separate flask. Continue until all water is gone and only salt remains. 3. filter the remaining wet salt then put the filter paper onto a watch glass and put irt close to heat for the excess water to evoperate. At the end you should have: 1. Sand on a filter paper 2. water in a separate flask 3. salt on a filter paper

And to bring attention to the person below (manickava..) who says everyone is wrong: If you want to separate salt from water, that suggests that you wish to collect the salt. Evaporating the water will leave the salt behind in the evaporating vessel. And You can't put it through a filter as he suggests, because if the salt is in solution (which we are all presuming it is) then the salt will pass straight through the filter in solution, with a net effect of nil. Mind you if, as the question actually suggests, the salt in question is insoluable (the word "mixture" implies two substances that can be mechanically separated) then filtration would obviously work.
And the other person who warned not to heat it too much in case you burn the salt: salt doesnt even start melting till 804 C, no domestic cooker will get close. In fact if yo do it in an aluminium saucepan, the saucepan would melting before the salt. Apologies to all from my inner pedant.

what do you mean by a mixture, if it is just salt and water then just boil off the water, the boiling point of salt is very high and it will remain in the container when the water has been evaporated, if there are other substances in the water then you will have to be more ingenius.

Just leave it on the window sill. The water will evapourate and leave the salt as a layer on the bottom as salt crystals.

This is called distillation.

You may accellerate the process by heating it. The speed at which you heat the water will determine the size of the crystals>> Faster evap smaller crystals.

Boil the water until there's no water left. What remains should be just salt. But it may also contain an amount of lime depending on how hard the water is.

If it hasn't desolved you can pick it out with tweezers but if it has then put the salty water in a pan and boil all the water off and you will be left with the salt

put the water in a bowl and boil the water. it will then evaporate and cause the salt to be left in the bottom of the bowl
