Legal. It is medicinal, pacifies the user and has been responsible for zero - yes, ZERO deaths.
Alcohol on the under hand can make one violent or aggressive, can lead to addiction and yes, has sadly been responsible for many deaths.
It is only illegal because the Government cannot tax us on it.

Because something is "less harmful" doesn't mean that it isn't harmful, does it? Cannabis does harm the people who take it . Perhaps more importantly however , it affects their behaviour. And anything that affects people's behaviour can and does impact on others. And ultimately , it is the "others" -- friends , relatives and the rest of society generally -- that end up paying the costs of that behaviour. Your argument, therefore, appears to be that it would be cheaper for the rest of us to pick up "your", bills if cannabis was made legal ,rather than paying the (higher) bills involved in keeping it illegal. It's a bit like an organised crime syndicate telling us to pay them protection money as it will be cheaper for us in the long run. It might be true --- but it p****s me off , so I'm not biting.

I get frustrated over this because alcohol kills hundreds if not thousands of people every year, yet it is still legal. I have never seen anyone stoned get into a fight or plow head first into another car. I really think that cannabis is the least problematic of all the drugs legal or not. It should at least be made available to cancer patients and those who suffer from different illnesses like MS, chronic pain, etc.by prescription. It helps those people get through some terrible side effects of chemo and other treatments.

Legal for people over 18. I think one of the reasons it's illegal is that it's wicked easy to grow and use, and therefore can't be taxed like tobacco and alcohol. The only reason dealers can make any money now is because it's illegal, and people who would use it are scared to grow it.

as a medicine yes make it legal, as a drug keep it illegal.
\\Hemp is an extremely potent herb used in very small doses for healing only! It is not used to heighten the senses or open the mind, it only SEEMS to do this.
when we discover something that we think is great we over-do it and take it to recreational standard rather than use it as a herb for its healing benefits! Grass is great for those who are on chemio-therapy to combat the side effects of nausea. So, mate, chuck it and start to live!!

Legal. No question. Who causes more trouble? A stoned man or a drunk man? no contest really!
Also, my mother now has a criminal record for using cannabis to alleviate some of her MS symptoms. Ridiculous

Absolutely,Prohibition did not work and neither does illegal pot.It is every where any way and is safer than alcohol,in my opinion.Jail space is wasted by putting in druggies .You can be put in jail forever for so much dope but let out for murder. What sense does that make?Plus they would get so much tax money

Legalise for over 18 and Tax the hell out of it.
The idiots can buy it and the wise can grow it!!

It should be at least decriminalized. It's ridiculous to have alcohol legal and marijuana not. Both should be legal or illegal one. You'll never win a war on drugs as long as one of them is firmly in your trenches.

well im not going to get in to an alcohol versus cannabis debate. suffice to say that they are both moderately bad for people and thereofre should both have the same "legal" status.
