I looked into all the different languages 'The Prophet' is availabe in for my Gibran wesbite. Russian unfortunately isn't one of them - English, Arabic, Spanish, French, Dutch, Turkish, Czech, Italian, Hungarian.

Gibran's style was unique, he had great eloquence and could convey meaning using few carefully selected words. Translations of his work lose much of Gibran's original content and end up flat and rather boring.

The likes of professors Bushrui, Cole and Waldbridge have translated Gibarn's works and go to great lengths to convey the original intended meaning in Gibran's style.

If there is a Russian translation it's not something I'm aware of, I've not been asked or told about it and it doesn't feature in the comprehensive bibliography compiled in 2003.

"For self is a sea boundless and measureless" ~~~ Now, there's the gold needle in the haystack! It's ultimate meaning approaches the 'simple' Reality that everything that you or I or anyone perceives, every unique moment (percept) of existence, ever..... absolutely all inclusive.... is... 'Self'!! How do we gain self-knowledge? ~~~ Now that you understand what 'Self' is, I'm happy to share The new, critically updated, all inclusive definition of; 'knowledge'; "that which is perceived!" That which is perceived by the unique individual Perspective is 'knowledge'. All you can 'know' is what you perceive, Now! and Now! and Now!!! Everything exists that is perceived. Not anything exists that is not perceived. Everything is perceived. Everything exists. Everything is 'knowledge' (that which is perceived). Every Perspective is unique every moment! The First Law of Soul Dynamics tells us that; "For every Perspective, there is an equal and opposite Perspective!" There is no one-size-fits-all 'knowledge'. Everyone's perceptions are unique; some just a bit, others very much so. That is the critical updated definition of 'knowledge'. Everyone's perceptions are included as inherently real features of Reality! "The complete Universe (Mind) can be defined/described as the sum total of all (unique) Perspectives (us)!" - Book of Fudd Don't that explain all the 'omnis'; omnipresent, omnipotent, omnicient, etc... omni-everything! "The complete Universe (Mind/SELF/Reality/existence and any feature therein...) can be defined/described as the sum total of all (unique) Perspectives (us)!" - Book of Fudd Now, how do ~you~ 'gain this experience' now that you have a bit of understanding? Realize that there is no individuated 'you' to gain anything. Transcend the ego/thoughtPerspective which is the perspective where thoughts of subject/object distinctions are perceived. "The heart of the sincere seeker will light the way!" Just remember, always, that everything that you perceive as "the world", all your life, is a small feature of the complete omni-Self (which includes all that is perceived by any perception, any Perspective! Happy trails

There are some good used book sites that are all posted by used and antiquarian book dealers. Try ABE.com, ADDALL.com, and BIBLIOPHILE.com. If you can search with both the English and Russian titles and you can't find it there I would be surprised.
