metaphorically, yes. A few years back I was very confused about everything. I didn't know what I wanted in life and the journey to finding out was fairly painful. I finally figured things out and even though it was a bad experience, I'm glad it happened. Because otherwise I wouldn't know who I am.

emotionally, yes, i have battled depression before, and i can feel it starting to creep back. But i have lots of friends and a wonderful husband who loves me very much, they are a great support to me. when i'm there it's very dark and scary, and yet sometimes i don't want to leave. sometimes i wallow in that emptiness for a bit. then i go watch a gabriel byrne movie, and it's all good!
Physically, i went cave rafting once, that was soooo cool. but dark and you can't see where you're headed, which gets the adrenaline going!
