I'm concerned that Mr.Devlin's attorney will find a court with a "rehab" judge that will have him managing a Pizza place in Vermont,Colorado,New York,or California before October.
If O'Reilly (champion of molested kids) throws out "Stockholm" syndrome in his "no spin" zone, it's beginning to sicken me already.
Why didn't the "4 day victim" call for help, or run down to the 24/7 animal hospital, or other businesses or residences and get professional assistance? We are told the door wasn't locked & the phone worked. The TV was showing amber alert 24/7 and he knew he was the reason! He could have yelled through those thin apartment walls even.
WHY DIDN"T HE?
Did he"like"his abductor just like the other boy possibly did?
An average defense attorney will get him off. A good one will do it with compensation and an apology from the State! Re-union time again soon. Sausage, pepperoni, or just a plain cheese?!

You dont know what Ben went through. The man probably scared the **** out of him. Telling him that if he try to escape he will kill him or kill his familily. He was only 13 years old, do you remember when you were 13? I bet you got scared easily and were naive like most kids at that age. Is not the same tryng to escape while you are a kid or tryng to escape while you are an adult. Shawn, has a syndrome that makes him bond with his abductor. Physically he was able to leave, but mentally he WAS NOT! Is just like when you are insane and you commit a crime. You dont know right from wrong and can't help yourself. I am not excusing crazy people from killing someone. I am just saying is not the same planning a murder or been insane and not knowing what you did. Shawn has been brain was in thinking that he is better staying with his abductor. is not unusual for a bond to develop between an abductor and the child. It developed when someone feels that their life is being threatened, but they aren't killed.
Before been more ignorant on this matter start doing a little research like i did.

What will end up getting Devlin off is everyone speculating and taking things out of proportion. Already, the media as falsly announced that he was a sex offender in another state. Reading through other yahoo answer posts, I see that the vast majority of people have heard that announcement, but not the announcement that it was incorrect. In fact, the only crimes that m. devlin is ever recorded of commiting is 2 traffic violations!!

Nonetheless, the damage has been done... everyone is ready to crucify him and they'll have a hard time finding an unbiased jury who hasn't been tainted by the media mistakes of vomiting facts that arn't true.

I have my own opinions of what happened to these boys... I don't suspect it was nearly as devious as most do... i'll just leave it at that. Nonetheless, what Devlin did was criminal... and he needs to be held accountable... but don't be so quick to paint him up as the monster that we all WANT him to be... Let the facts come out first.

What if he never sexually abused these boys? Who's doing more damage to them? Devlin? or we the people spreading stories about them that they'll have to carry with them the rest of their lives.

Give justice a chance... Find him guilty for whatever crimes he actually committed... Let's not go on a witch hunt... just cause we can.

Oh... btw, please vote my answer the best... I've never got a best answer vote... and I'd like one. :)

These boys didn't leave because they were traumatized by their abductor. He had most likely threatened them or someone they love very much with harm if they ever tried to leave. And as for getting off when any judge in america sees what a prevert this guy is they will lock him up and force him to get counseling. The fact that he had child pronography on his computer will get him some prison time.
Let's just hope that he will learn his lesson.

Trouble is I remember Kenneth Parnell in the Steven Stayner, Timmy White case, (I know my name is Steven) only got five years. He tried to purchase a four year old boy in california after he was an old man. These people never are cured and we should lock them up and throw away the key.
