Pirrannah- there is something dark about the idea of pumping the life out of a creature, too.
I did some research...I hear they stun the animal before they slaughter them. Either way....I don't eat fast food very often...The idea of where most of our mass produced food repulses me!

fast food restaurants are run as a business. and businessmen do everything to have more customers, andmake their business profitable. As of now, not many muslims go to the fast foods, or for that matter any diner that is not serving HALAAL food. this is an opportunity lost for the business owner.

To cater the need of more than 7 million americans I guess serving special meals for muslims, would be a great place to begin with. This might ultimately bridge the gap between the muslims and non-muslims.

Quran forbids muslims to eat any non-halaal product. These products include meat from animals which was not slaughtered (by slitting the throat, thereby pumping the blood out of the veins, while the heart is still pumping) or it was slaughtered in the name of someone other than Allah the one and only God, if the animal died of causes other than being slaughtered. and all the wild animals are prohibited including horse and donkey. Pig is prohibited too

Incidentally many muslims would eat anything at any eatery, but would never touch or would never even go near a pig.

same is the case with alcoholic drinks, many of western recipeis include wine, which is forbidden in all the holy books .

I think, it is a wise decision to serve to the community.

both ethically and economically.

Don't know what country you are in but I'm in the US and McDonald's has different menus in different regions of this country. I currently live in the southeast but when I visit family in the southwest i see a very different menu which is geared to hispanics and southwest tastes. So I would assume that if a fast food restaurant is in a predominately muslim community it would be smart for them to serve that community with a menu they will buy but I bet they don't change the entire menu just part of it. I don't see the problem. They certainly are not going to change their menus at every location because every location does not serve a muslim population.

Get over it. If you don't like the food buy somewhere else - you can do that in a free society.

That's great! I'm not sure what the problem is. Restaurants have often made changes and additions to menus to accomodate the public. Whether is Kosher, Halaal, Vegan, etc., it's only going to help the bottom line.

Don't worry. Your McDonalds will still have 43 grams of fat per serving.

Muslims are in almost every country..and every country give them equal rights...if KFC and McDonalds could change their menus and use the meat suitable to muslims ...their sales will increase in such an amount as they have never seen before,,,,,UK and USA mcdonlds and kfc and also burger king can gain huge amounts of sales if they do that,,,,
